Naples has 4 Castles: the most famous is certainly Castel dell'Ovo set on the small island Megaride, surrounded by the Borgo Marinari.
The imposing Angevin, or New Castle, overlooking the vast Piazza Municipio however, opening access to the port, and is the first monument in which we come to Naples arriving by sea.
The Saint Elmo Castle dominates the city from rising on the hill of Vomero. From the Square of weapons you can access any of the corridors that offer breathtaking views of the city of Naples.
The Castel Capuano, just east of the city, finally, is the least known of the four. It takes its name from the nearby Porta Capuana, one of the ancient entrances to the city. For centuries, is the seat of the Courts.
